Jia-Jen Lin is a visual artist who currently lives and works in Taiwan, New York, and various locations. Her work integrates sculpture and installation art with performance, video, and photography. Jia-Jen received her BFA in Western Painting from the National Taiwan Normal University in Taiwan (2002), and a MFA in Sculpture from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (2007). She has exhibited internationally, including US, Australia, Taiwan, and South Korea.

Her recent solo exhibitions include Vermont Studio Center, VT (2008); Taipei Cultural Center, NY (2009); and Power Space Gallery, Taiwan (2009). Recent group shows include The Paradox of Water, The Westport Arts Center, CT (2008); International Incheon Women Artists’ Biennale, Korea (2009); and Queens International 4, NY (2009); Paradiso : Watermill Summer Benefit, Watermill Center, NY (2010). She just attended an exchange residency program at Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts, Australia from September to December 2010.

Jia-Jen's practice investigates the psychological distance between artificial life and our physical sensations. By way of collecting, modifying, and representing information and materials from everyday experiences, she would like to draw the attention to the initial stage: to investigate the possibilities between the material world and our physical selves.
